political system of nepalLate King Birendra recognized the public views removing the ban with political parties with announcing multi party democracy during the big coalition against the autocrat Panchayat system in 1990. Then the new constitution is promulgated in 1991. After this successful peoples movement the king is under the constitution of Nepal from his sole power. According to the new constitution Nepal is reformed as the country of Multi Party Democracy with Constitutional Monarchy. After the death of late King Birendra; Currently King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev is ruling over Nepal being a head of State. There are three major bodies in the constitution as a heart of the nation. They are Parliament, Government and Judiciary.

Parliament

Nepal has a bicameral legislature. The lower house, the House of Representatives, consists of 205 members. Members to the lower house are elected every five years. The upper house, the National Assembly, is made up of 60 members who have six-year tenure in office. One-third of the members retire every two years. The local government, 35 members by proportional representation, elects 15 members and 10 members are nominated by the King.

Government

The government is under the Prime Minister system. The major party selects the prime minister from the house of representative and the prime minister selects the council of ministers from both houses. It is announced by the secretariat of the King. The constitution of Nepal has managed Prime Minister, Deputy prime Minister, Cabinet Minister, Minister of state and Assistant Minister.
